La plate-forme WACA a trois fonctions, la première etant de faciliter et accroître l'accès aux connaissances, à l'expertise, aux bonnes pratiques mondiales et à l'assistance technique. La deuxième, de mobiliser et financer les investissements en faveur de la résilience côtière et enfin la troisième, de galvaniser et fournir un forum de dialogue tout en facilitant la participation d'autres partenaires clés, y compris le secteur privé.

La Banque mondiale travaille avec des partenaires pour développer la Plate-forme pendant une période d'incubation de 5 ans, pendant laquelle elle identifiera et renforcera la capacité du ou des hôtes à héberger et gérer la Plate-forme à l'avenir.

Knowledge

It connects countries with global expertise, identifies investment needs, and supports data-driven decision-making through dedicated research hubs, observatories, and innovation calls. The Platform also promotes education and shares proven solutions to strengthen coastal resilience.

Finance

By streamlining financing processes, the Platform links donors and private sector partners to coastal investments, sets sustainability standards, and supports local economies through targeted initiatives.

Dialogue

WACA brings together policymakers, technical experts, and communities, promoting regional cooperation and citizen engagement to build a more resilient future.

The World Bank works with partners to develop the Platform during a five-year incubation period, during which time it will identify and strengthen the host(s) capacity to house and run the Platform in the future.
