Preserve our Coastline, Protect our Future Blog Competition young bloggers bring their voices as part of the solutions for coastal resilience

As part of the WACA Blog Togo competition, WACA REsIP awarded six young bloggers and vloggers.

(Togo First) - In Togo, the WACA REsIP coastal resilience program awarded prizes to six young bloggers and vloggers on Saturday, March 2, as part of the "WACA Blog Togo" competition organized last December around the theme "Preserving our coasts, protecting our future".

The celebration was held in conjunction with International Wetlands Day, in the village of Agbétiko, Commune du Bas-Mono 2, Préfecture de Bas-Mono. The event was attended by several officials from WACA ResIP Togo, the Ministry of the Environment, the Ministry of Maritime Economy, and local authorities.

The award ceremony was marked by the symbolic presentation of gift vouchers to the six best bloggers and vloggers. In the Blog (text) category, the program rewarded Kletus Komko Situ, who took first place with a prize of 350,000 FCFA, Keke Germain, who walked away with a prize pot of 300,000 FCFA, and Edoh Déborah, with a prize of 250,000 FCFA. In the Vlog (video) category, content creator Valentine Taou took first place (with a prize fund of 350,000 FCFA), followed by Buame Omaw Vatussias (2nd prize, with 300,000 FCFA) and Mama Djawad (250,000 FCFA).

Le Concours, organisé en partenariat avec l’Association des Blogueurs du Togo (ABT), a vu la participation de plus de 100 candidats sur une période de trois semaines, dans les catégories Vlog et Blog. 

Selon le Dr Adou Rahim Alimi, Coordonnateur du projet WACA au Togo, cette initiative s'inscrit dans la stratégie de communication de WACA Togo, qui prend en compte le rôle de sensibilisation que peuvent jouer les jeunes sur Internet, afin de toucher le plus grand nombre et les attirer à la protection et à la valorisation des espaces côtiers.
