WACA ResIP project management monitoring and evaluation specialists and project coordinators trained in the use of RUCHE software

Workshop organized by WACA BAR to train teams on how to use the RUCHE application.

The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and the six countries benefiting from the WACA ResIP project have teamed up with COSIT to create and deploy the RUCHE application, a customized monitoring and evaluation software package. A workshop was organized for this purpose by the project's regional office (WACA BAR) in Lomé, Togo, from February 26 to March 02, 2024.

In 2022, a review of the results framework was undertaken, integrating new indicators and adjusting certain targets. At the same time, funding for the second WACA project led to three new beneficiary countries being added, necessitating an update of the regional monitoring and evaluation manual.

To meet these new challenges, it was essential to strengthen the skills of M&E specialists and project coordinators in all the countries involved, and to extend the use of RUCHE software to the new countries.

The aim was to ensure an in-depth understanding of the RUCHE application and its full integration into the WACA ResIP1 and 2 countries, in order to effectively support the project's decision-making and data management. Participants examined various aspects such as results entry, the indicator dashboard, technical-financial monitoring, programming and follow-up of recommendations.

This workshop represents an important step towards harmonizing practices and improving the efficiency of the WACA ResIP monitoring and evaluation system.
It brought together 28 participants from the management units of beneficiary countries and regional partners of WACA ResIP1 and 2.
