The West Africa Coastal Areas (WACA) Platform launched in Dakar, Senegal, in November 2018 with the aim to accelerate knowledge development and exchange, leverage financing at the scale needed to strengthen the West African coastline’s resilience, and foster the political and technical dialogues needed to ensure the engagement and buy-in of all stakeholders to ensure coordination and sustainable results.The Marketplace is a response to this demand and is seen as the financial mobilization tool of the WACA Platform.  It aims to catalyze the development of coastal resilience investment projects and mobilization of investment finance by matching country demand with partner supply, bringing WACA countries and potential financing partners together to start the process of match-making and resource mobilization.
