The objective of this study was to assist understanding of the nexus between mangrove cultivation and restoration, and women in coastal Ghana by covering two broad areas; women’s use of mangroves and women’s role in conservation and restoration of mangroves.

The objective of the current study is to estimate the total economic value (TEV) of current mangrove areas in Ghana by considering the whole range of benefits they provide, and to use those estimated values in economic cost‑benefit analyses.

The Strategic Roadmap aims to present a timebound plan to implement solutions that will improve plastic
management in Accra and its surroundings at all the stages of the plastic chain (importation, production,
manufacturing, distribution, consumption, collection and recycling) and for all the different types of
stakeholders (international, institutional, private, informal and civil society).

This report presents a comprehensive overview and analysis of the prevailing institutional and regulatory framework for plastics management in Ghana, highlighting both the strengths and challenges identified.

This first edition of the biannual Plastic Action Initiative Tracker is intended to serve as a reference point for the many varied and exciting initiatives happening on the ground across Ghana to address plastic waste and pollution.

This Baseline study is completed under the Accra Plastics Management Pilot (APMP) which started in February 2019 and is funded by the Department for International Development (DFID) of the UK government.
